James “Jim” Allen Crawford, 74, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.
He was born March 28, 1952, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Robert and Gloria (Cory) Crawford. Jim graduated from Mansfield Senior High School, class of 1970. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. A skilled electrician and craftsman, he later retired from Jay Plastics after many dedicated years of work.
Jim shared 34 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Diana. He was a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who cherished time with his family. He loved to travel, especially enjoying cruises and vacations where he created many lasting memories.
In his free time, Jim found joy in the outdoors. Hiking, fishing, and hunting were among his favorite pastimes, reflecting his deep appreciation for nature and adventure.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Diana Crawford; children, Colleen Diggs (Tracy Scott), Julie Barch, David Ward (Valerie), Jeremy Ward, and Kevin Crawford (Shannon); grandchildren, Ryan Crawford, Logan Crawford, Samantha Schaaf (Alec), Skylar Ward (Alexis), Avery Diggs, Adrianna Diggs, Makalya Horton, Leonard Barch, Kellin Crawford, and Finn Crawford; great-granddaughter, Willow Schaaf; sister, Patricia Ann Barkhurst (Robert); and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Ethel Slane; brother-in-law, Dick Thomas; and sister-in-law, Sandy Thomas.
Family and friends may visit on Monday, May 11, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at M1 Church, 1000 McPherson St, Mansfield, OH 44903. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Mark Lehman and Chaplin Tony Leprotti.
