Don Kenneth Roberts

Don Kenneth Roberts, age 72, of Shelby, on Sunday, May 3, 2026, passed away peacefully while doing what he loved most – fishing. In that quiet moment, surrounded by nature, he found the same peace and joy that defined so much of his life.

He was born on June 2, 1953, in Shelby, Ohio, to the late Donald Henry Roberts and Janet Lou (Scott) Argo. Don was a 1972 graduate of Shelby High School. During his retirement, he worked part-time as a stocker at Save-A-Lot and at Shelby Crossing Golf Course.

Don was a member of the Shelby Eagles #763 and American Legion Post 326. Don had a deep love for the outdoors, especially tending to his garden.  He took great pride in growing his own vegetables and found happiness in planting flowers with a special fondness for yellow tulips and hydrangeas.  His yard was a reflection of his care, patience, and appreciation for life’s simple beauty.

A devoted fan of the Cleveland Browns, Don rarely missed a chance to cheer on his team.  Whether celebrating victories or enduring tough seasons, his loyalty never wavered.

Above all, Don cherished his family.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren, creating memories filled with laughter, stories and love.  His presence brought warmth and comfort to those around him and his legacy will live on through the family he adored.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those who will cherish his memory include his daughters, Wendy (Sean) Stumbo of Willard, Jenny (Scott Coy) Nester of Shelby, and Sabrina (Bobby) Snyder of Bellville; his grandchildren, Macie Dechert, Molly Ramsey, Austin (Romy) Nester, Abigail Nester, Rylan Snyder, Rynlee Snyder, Rhett Snyder, Kaden Roberts, and Nevaeh Roberts; his great-grandchildren, Easton Stima, Elijah Nester, Everly Nester, and Rowyn Nester; his siblings, Vickie Oehlhof of Shelby, Bill Roberts of Shelby, Randy Roberts of Shelby, Ronnie (Suzi) Roberts of Shelby, and Rhonda Roberts of Mansfield; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Wade Roberts, and his brother, Ricky Roberts.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026 starting at 5:00 PM at the Shelby Eagles, 46 E Main St, Shelby, Ohio 44875.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Barkdull Funeral Home to be used by the family for a tribute to be determined at a later date.
