Philip Benskin Leek, age 94, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Brethren Care Village in Ashland, Ohio.

He was born on December 13, 1931, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Joe and Kay (Benskin) Leek. Philip graduated in 1949 from Monroeville, Ohio, where he proudly served as class president. Following graduation, he honorably served his country in the United States Coast Guard during the Korean War.

After completing his military service, Philip pursued his education at Ohio Wesleyan University, graduating in 1956 with a degree in Journalism. He went on to build a successful career in computer sales, where he worked for 30 years. Later in life, he found joy in working as a groundskeeper for several properties in the Mansfield area, a role that reflected his appreciation for the outdoors.

On June 23, 1957, Philip married the love of his life, Carolyn Helen Graybill. Their marriage was a beautiful testament to commitment and devotion, and he dearly loved his wife throughout their many years together residing in Mansfield since 1959.

Philip is survived by his sons, Philip Leek Jr., and Eric Leek; and other cherished family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife who passed away in 2009, Carolyn Leek; and his parents; and his sister, Karen Leek.

His family will observe private services where Philip will be laid to rest at Mansfield Cemetery. Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield is honored to serve the family.
