MARYSVILLE – Youth from across Ohio showcased their skills and beef industry knowledge during the Ohio Beef Youth Council (OBYC) Salesmanship and Skillathon contests held Saturday, April 18, at the new Multispecies Animal Learning Complex located at the CFAES Agriculture and Natural Resources Laboratory on the Ohio State University campus.

The main objective of Individual Sales is to give juniors a glimpse into a real-life selling scenario while emphasizing the importance of strong communication skills, effective marketing techniques, and a solid understanding of performance data, pedigree, and market information.

Similarly, the OCA BEST Skillathon aims to provide juniors with the opportunity to showcase their knowledge of key topics within the beef industry, including reproduction, nutrition, health, and meats, helping them build a well-rounded foundation in the field.

The contest consisted of four age divisions: Beginner, Junior, Intermediate, and Senior.
