Barbara Elizabeth (Dudte) Stegall Slone, age 90, of Shelby, Ohio, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2026, at The Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Ashland, Ohio.
Barbara was born August 17, 1935, in Loudonville, Ohio, Ashland County, to Seth and Blanche Dudte.
She attended Loudonville High School for 12 years and worked various jobs. She retired from Tech Form in Shelby, Ohio, in 1990.
As a young girl, Barbara developed a love for the outdoors and spent as much time as possible doing what she loved. She loved camping, fishing, hiking, walking, and traveling, and was an avid reader. She also loved being with and doing things with her children and grandchildren. Barbara loved riding their Gold Wing Touring motorcycle with her husband Carl.
Barbara was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Shelby and loved doing what she could to help with cleaning and other things around the church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Carl, in 2023; her parents, Seth and Blanche Dudte; her infant sister, Anna Mae; her brother, Charles Dudte; and her son-in-law, Terrance Hunt Sr.
Surviving Barbara are her four children, Randall (Beth) Stegall and Doug (Amy) Stegall, both of Mansfield, Cheryl Hunt of New Franklin, Ohio, and Michael (Jan) Stegall of Belton, Texas; her four step-children, Allison Lamb of Rio Rico, Arizona, Jerry Slone of Galion, Ohio, Dana (Brett) Purdue of Mansfield, and Michael Slone of Temple Terrance, Florida; eight grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; three nephew, Stephan, Jeffrey, and Thomas Dudte; and some cousins.
Family and friends will gather for a visitation on Saturday, May 2, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Home-Lindsey Chapel, with a funeral service beginning immediately at 12 p.m. Burial will follow in Loudonville Cemetery.
