Terence “Terry” Ray Giddens, 69, of Galion, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Terry was born on September 8, 1956, in Madison, IN to the late John Giddens and Velma Jo (Shelton) Kaczmarek.

Terry attended Northmor High School, class of 1975. During this time, Terry met the love of his life, Cynthia Ford, and they would later marry on November 26, 1977. Following high school, Terry and Cynthia moved to Texas, and he worked as an operating engineer at Dow Chemical for the next 20 years.

Terry will be remembered as a man who loved his time spent outdoors. Whether he was casting a line while fishing with his grandkids, heading out on a hunting trip, or tending to his garden, he felt most at home surrounded by nature.

In his earlier years, Terry embraced his passions with the same energy he carried throughout his life. He enjoyed drumming and riding his Harley, finding both freedom and rhythm in those pursuits. He also had a creative spirit, expressing himself through drawing and painting.

As a father, Terry was deeply involved in his children’s lives. He rarely missed a game, always cheering from the sidelines, and often stepped up to help coach when needed. He also dedicated time to supporting and volunteering his labor at the BMX racetrack.

Above all else, Terry’s greatest love was his family. He cherished every moment spent with them and held a special place in his heart for his dogs, who brought him constant companionship and joy.

Left to cherish Terry’s memories are his wife, Cynthia Giddens; his children, Joshua (Veronika) Giddens and Tricia (Thomas Dean) Giddens; his grandchildren; Kaylee (Erik) Sullenbarger, Taylor Giddens, Ethan Dean, Tenley Giddens and Hunter Dean; great-grandson, Weslee Sullenbarger, his sisters; Kimberly Maxwell and Denise (Willie) Hinson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Jessica Chafin and Michelle Ford.

In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by his sister, Patrica Giddens and stepfather, Norman Kaczmarek.
