COLUMBUS — Earlier this month, the Ohio State Highway Patrol and other members of the 6-State Trooper Project joined together to focus on distracted driving enforcement.
During the enforcement, Ohio State troopers identified and addressed 3,794 distracted driving violations.
The eight‐day initiative began on Monday, April 6 and continued through Monday, April 13.
The campaign also included the Indiana State Police, Kentucky State Police, Michigan State Police, Pennsylvania State Police and West Virginia State Police.
Collectively, the six agencies involved in the collaborative enforcement identified and addressed 5,519 distracted driving violations.
The 6-State Trooper Project is a multi-state law enforcement partnership aimed at providing combined and coordinated law enforcement and security services in the areas of highway safety, criminal patrol and information sharing.
