Mary Alice Komives of Mansfield passed away Friday, April 10, 2026, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. She was 99 years old.
Born on November 26, 1926, in Mansfield, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Robert J. and Mary Anna (Basting) Stimens. She found great enjoyment in working in her flower beds and gardening, and they were spectacular sights. She was quite the square and line dancer when she was a bit younger. Mary Alice enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping at Pleasant Hill Lake. She relaxed by painting pictures, many of which are still in the family.
Mary Alice was an LPN working in the healthcare field for various businesses over the years. She also managed four apartments in Mansfield. Mary Alice was very involved in the activities of her children and volunteered as a leader for both the Boy and Girl Scouts.
As you can imagine, living to almost 100 years old, Mary Alice had an impact on the lives of many people. She will be remembered for her caring demeanor and creative mind and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by two children, Linda Little and Christine Anderson; six grandchildren, Paul A. Hayden, Matt Byles, David Crow, Jennifer Adams, Jim Komives, and Deana Jaqes; eleven great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward John Komives; son, Dennis Komives; and two brothers, Donald and David Stimens.
There will be no visitation or services observed. Wappner Funeral Directors and Crematory-Ontario is honored to serve the family.
