COLUMBUS – The Ohio Controlling Board recently approved the release of $500,000 for the Mansfield Renaissance Theatre “Road to 100” renovation project, a move applauded by State Rep. Marilyn John (R-Richland County).

The funding will support the replacement of seating in the historic 1,402-seat theatre, which hosts nearly 40 productions each year, including Broadway-style musicals, concerts, educational programs, and family shows.

The “Road to 100” project is a restoration effort as the Renaissance Theatre approaches its 100th anniversary in 2028.

“The Mansfield Renaissance Theatre holds tremendous cultural and educational significance and has made a lasting impact on my life and the people of Richland County over the past 100 years,” John said.

“I hope that, as a result of this renovation, people can continue enjoying the theater for at least another 100 years.”
