It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Doris Mae Swartz, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who left this world on March 31, 2026, at the age of 96 in Peach County, Georgia. Born on September 4, 1929, in Richland County, Ohio, Doris’ life was a testament to love, family, and unwavering kindness.

Preceded in death by her devoted husband, James “Bob” R. Swartz, and her parents, Paul V. Miller and Mary Teresa Taus Miller, Doris was a source of strength and support for her family. In addition she is preceded in death by her children, Jennifer Peppers and Annette McCardle, and J. Neal Swartz; sisters, Pauline Looper and Martha Faulk.

She is lovingly remembered by her children: Pamela (Larry) Wingate, and Sydney (Patricia) Swartz. Her legacy extends to her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who carry forward her spirit of generosity and warmth. Doris also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of friends, all of whom celebrate the profound impact she had on their lives.

Doris spent her life as a dedicated homemaker, finding joy in nurturing her family and ensuring their happiness was her highest priority. An ardent animal lover, she embraced the companionship of furry friends and found solace in their presence. Her passion for family gatherings was unmatched; she reveled in supporting her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always making time for family traditions and creating lasting memories.

A visitation in honor of Doris will be held at Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Warner Robins, Georgia on Friday April 3, 2026 between 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM where loved ones may come together to celebrate her remarkable life. Doris will be laid to rest in Mount Hope Cemetery in Shiloh, Ohio, where graveside services will take place on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 12:30 pm. Her memory will forever remain etched in the hearts of all who knew her. As we remember Doris Mae Swartz, we are reminded of her kindness, her gentle spirit, and her unyielding love for family. May her soul find peace, and may her memory be a blessing for all who had the privilege to know and love her.
