Dear Editor,
I am writing this letter to express my strong support for upholding private property rights, specifically the right of landowners to enter into voluntary agreements for solar, wind, or battery storage projects on their land.
As a resident and property owner of this county, I believe that farmers and landowners deserve the freedom to make economic decisions about their own property. Leasing land for energy projects provides a reliable income that sustains farms and properties, keeps land in the family for future generations, and strengthens our local economy.
I encourage the board to avoid restrictive zoning ordinances or blanket bans that create a “one-size-fits-all” approach to. Instead, I ask that you support policies that treat energy development as a permitted land use, provided projects meet standard health and safety requirements.
Please trust in your neighbors and farmers to make thoughtful decisions about their property.
Sincerely,
Dianne Parker
