Virginia (Ginny) Dawn Perkins, age 63 of Shelby, Ohio passed away on March 21, 2026 at home surrounded by family following a brief illness. On November 1, 1962 she was born in Mansfield, Ohio the daughter of Carlos Gillam and Sandy Gillam. On May 14, 1988 she married Steven Perkins at the Grace Brethren Church and together they shared 37 years.
Ginny was a factory worker the majority of her life and was a member of the Marion Ave. Grace Brethren Church. She enjoyed watching The Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cleveland Indians. Her protest achievement was obtaining her brown belt in karate. Ginny was a loving wife and mother that loved Jesus and her church family.
She is survived by her husband, Steven L Perkins; son, Glenn (Kayla) Perkins; father, Carlos Gillam; brother, John Gillam; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Ginny was preceded in death by her mother, Sandra Gillam; Maternal grandparents, Donald and Bernice Bratchie; paternal grandparents, James and Mindy Gillam and numerous aunts and uncles.
The family would like to thank Southern Care Hospice for the loving care they provided to Ginny.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
