MANSFIELD – Grace Episcopal Church and Pantry, located at 41 Bowman Street, invites the Mansfield community to join in the observance of Holy Week and the celebration of Easter.

The upcoming series of services offers a journey through the most sacred days of the Christian calendar, featuring ancient traditions, contemplative prayer, and festive musical celebrations.

“Holy Week is the spiritual heart of our year,” said Fr. Christopher D. Hofer, Priest-in-Charge.

“It is a time when we step out of the rush of daily life to walk the path of reflection, sacrifice, and ultimately, overwhelming joy. We invite our neighbors to find a home here at Grace, whether they are seeking a quiet place for prayer or a vibrant celebration of hope.”

The schedule for Holy Week and Easter at Grace includes:

  • Palm Sunday, March 29: Holy Eucharists with Palm Procession at 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Fr. Christopher D. Hofer, Officiating
  • Holy Wednesday, April 1: The Order of Tenebrae at 7:00 p.m., a service of increasing shadows and profound reflection.
  • Good Friday, April 3: The Proper Liturgy of Good Friday at Noon, followed by a Sung Proper Liturgy of Good Friday at 7:00 p.m.
  • Easter Day, April 5: Festival Holy Eucharist at 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m., featuring brass, organ, and choir. Fr. David Sipes, Rector Emeritus, Officiating

In addition to the services held at 41 Bowman Street, Grace Church will join its sister parish, St. Matthew’s in Ashland, for a Maundy Thursday Eucharist on April 2 and a Good Friday Family Service on the afternoon of April 3.

Fr. Hofer emphasized the importance of the community during this season. “At Grace, our doors and our pantry are open to all. This week is a reminder that even in the darkest moments, light and life prevail. We look forward to sharing the beautiful music of our brass and choir on Easter morning as we celebrate the resurrection together.”
