SENECA COUNTY — A Bucyrus woman was one of four people killed Thursday night in a one-car crash that ended with the car in a pond.

According to the Norwalk Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the accident happened at 10:30 p.m. on Ohio 18 near Seneca County Road 48, just west of Tiffin.

Troopers said their preliminary investigation found a Ford Focus, driven by Hermoiney
Greenler, 19, Bucyrus, was eastbound on Ohio 18.

Greenler failed to maintain control of her vehicle, traveled off the right side of the road and struck a tree before becoming partially submerged in a pond, according to the patrol.

Greenler and her passengers, Madison Yates, 21, and Jonathan Bowling, 22, both of
Tiffin, died at the scene as a result of the crash, troopers said.

Alexzandria Hickle, 22, Tiffin, was taken by ambulance to Mercy Health-Tiffin Hospital where she died from injuries sustained in the crash, the patrol said.

Hickle was wearing a safety belt at the time of the crash and the other three occupants were unbelted, according to troopers.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, Bascom Joint Fire District, Ohio Department of Transportation, Seneca County Coroner’s Office and Reinhart Auto Body.

The crash remained under investigation on Friday morning, the patrol said.
