Delmar Theodore “Ted” Ferguson, 71, passed away after a lengthy illness on March 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Born on August 21, 1954, to Martha Ann (Gray) Ferguson and Forrest H. Ferguson, Ted grew into a man known for his kindness, humor, and the joy he brought to every gathering. He had a deep love for music and spent countless hours playing guitar, sharing songs and stories with the people he cherished most. His presence could light up a room, and his laughter was a comfort to all who knew him.

Ted is survived by his daughter Brandi Phillips, along with three granddaughters: Joslynn (Justin) Thomas, Chevele Phillips (Keagan Cooper-Lawson), and Raven Adams (Christopher Hoffman Jr.). He was also fortunate to have nine great-grandchildren—Tayson, Tinlee, Taleah Thomas, Marcyee Phillips, Elenroe Blust, Chandler Phillips, Keagan Cooper, Carter Hoffman, and Christopher Hoffman III—who filled his life with immense pride and happiness.

He is also survived by his brothers—David, Dwane, Don, Daniel (Lisa), and James (Diana) Ferguson—as well as his sister Karen Chambers, his brother-in-law Tom Heichel, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends who loved him deeply.

Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Martha and Forrest Ferguson, his sister Christine Heichel, and his sister-in-law Karen Ferguson.

Ted’s legacy lives on in the music he played, the stories he told, and the love he shared so freely. He will be deeply missed by all who have had the privilege of knowing him.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Mansfield Memorial Park, 2507 Park Avenue West, Mansfield, Ohio. A Celebration of Life will follow from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Hanna Road Church, 536 Hanna Road, Mansfield, Ohio.
