Sharon Lynn Forrest, 83, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully at home on March 21, 2026, after a long and courageous journey with her health, sustained by her remarkable strength and her deep enduring love for her family. She was born December 9, 1942, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late John and Eleanor (Savene) Dune.
She loved her family dearly, and they truly were everything to her. She grew up alongside her beloved husband, John, and they were married on March 24, 1962. During John’s service in the Air Force, they lived together in North Dakota, building a life rooted in love and devotion. Traveling with John to Gulf Shores, Alabama, was especially meaningful to her, where they cherished time spent watching the ocean.
Sharon found joy in reading, spending Friday nights with her friends, and doting on her cherished grand dogs.
She is survived by her husband, John Forrest; children, Christine Forrest and Tracy (Lance) McGinty; in-laws, David (Sonia) Forrest, Dennis (Janet) Forrest, and Kay Dune; grand dogs, Coco and Dakota; and many cherished family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, John Dune.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street., Mansfield. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, with visitation one-hour prior beginning at 10:00 am. Pastor Faith Proietti will be officiating. Sharon will be laid to rest in Mansfield Memorial Park.
