Dirk Bloom, 42, of Shelby, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on March 19th.

Dirk was a deeply warm and friendly person who never knew a stranger. He could talk to anyone and had a way of making people feel instantly comfortable and welcome. His smile was unforgettable, and his hugs were sincere and full of love. He had one of the most genuine souls, loving with his whole heart and giving that love freely to others. Anyone who knew him could feel it.

He was truly a jack of all trades. Whether it was fixing brakes, changing oil, roofing, or tiling, there was very little he couldn’t do. He took pride in working with his hands and sharing what he knew, including teaching his nephew how to do brakes-something that will always be remembered.

Family meant everything to Dirk. He loved his family deeply, including his aunts, uncles, and cousins, and valued those relationships in a way that never wavered.

Throughout his life, Dirk faced struggles, including challenges with addiction. Even through those hardships, he remained someone people were drawn to, forming connections wherever he went and leaving a lasting impression on those who knew him.

He is survived by his daughter, Neveah; his father, Bryan Bloom; his grandmother, Donna McLaughlin; and his siblings, Christina Aronovsky, Haley Burns, and Greg Caugherty.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Susan Davis; his grandparents, Sandra and Dalton Morris and Dale McLaughlin; and his aunt, Sharon Davis.

Service information will be announced at a later time.

He leaves behind a deep ache in the hearts of those who loved him, a reflection of how much he meant. Dirk will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his kindness, his warmth, and the love he gave so freely.
