On March 19, 2026, at the age of 102, Olive passed away peacefully following a stroke, leaving behind a legacy of independence, adventure, and family tradition. She and her husband George (who died in 2008) moved to Mansfield in 1954 and raised their family of four children, Lynn (HC) Proffitt, Eric (Debby) Miller, Marcie (James) Steen, and Melissa Gwyn (Miller) and Spencer Decker, and ‘adopted’ son Toa (LeHan) Do. Olive is survived by her 5 children, 9 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild.
Olive remained fiercely independent throughout her long life. She was an active member of her church book club and a passionate traveler, notably embarking on an African safari at the age of 92. Above all, she was the heart of her family, hosting meals and “happy hours” for her loved ones until her final day.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mansfield Arts Center or North Central Ohio Land Conservancy. The family looks forward to hosting a celebration of her life this summer, where friends and family can gather to toast to a life exceptionally well-lived.
Wappner Funeral Directors-Mansfield is honored to serve the family of Olive L. Miller.
