Janice E. Morehead lived a life defined by her deep faith, gentle kindness, and a generosity that made everyone feel at home. On March 18, 2026, Janice was embraced into the loving arms of her Savior. She was 77.
She was born on November 2, 1948, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Leslie Tucker and Lois (Ream) Kilgore. Growing up in the area, Janice graduated from Clear Fork High School with the class of 1966, and also graduated with honors from Mansfield Business College in 1983.
Janice’s life was marked by a strong work ethic and a servant’s heart. Over the years, she held many different jobs, always dedicating herself fully to the task at hand. Most notably, she proudly owned and operated the M&M Video store in Ashland alongside her son, creating a place where both business and community thrived. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, and she was a devoted member of Freedom Ridge Church, where she faithfully served as a greeter on most Sundays, welcoming all with her warm smile and kind spirit.
Janice found great joy in life’s simple pleasures and in the people she loved most. She was an excellent bowler and enjoyed garage saling, searching for antiques, and playing cornhole. She rarely missed a sporting event for her son or grandchildren, always there to cheer them on with pride. Above all, her family meant everything to her. She delighted in the little things—especially her favorite Reese’s Cups—and was never without her trusty water cup. Her love, warmth, and generous heart will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
She is survived by her loving son Troy (Lynn) Ernsberger, grandchildren Kassi (Benji) Bissman, Bryce (Jen) Ernsberger, and Brendan (Mary) Ernsberger, step-grandchildren Jonathan (Emily) Dech and Michael (Jill) Dech, six great-grandchildren, and siblings Ron (Linda) Tucker, Larry Tucker, and Judy Johnson.
In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Morehead.
Friends may call on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Homes, Lexington Avenue Chapel, where a funeral honoring Janice’s life will begin immediately following.
