On Saturday March 14, 2026 at 11:33 PM, God reclaimed the beautiful soul of 12 year old Aiden James Sumpter. He was born in Gastonia, NC to mother Megan Marie Damron, and father, Ryan Michael Sumpter.
Aiden was ornery in a way that got you to smile whether you wanted to or not, and resilient in a way that made you so proud. He had a love for sports and always had a taste for winning that he had to share with everyone. When it came to wrestling, no one was safe around Aiden. He was a light that I don’t think any of us were prepared to lose. He will be missed dearly by an entire community.
Aiden is survived by his mother, Megan Marie Damron, his father, Ryan Michael Sumpter, his stepdad, Mathew James Daley, his siblings: Ian Michael Sumpter, Natalie Dene-Skye Sumpter, Gwendolyn Rose Sumpter, Abigail Marie Henderson and Willow Ann Damron, his grandparents Melissa Ann Damron, Gary Damron, April Sumpter and Luther Sumpter and numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM Sunday March 22, 2026 at Wesley Chapel, 240 South Market St., Galion, Ohio 44833 where services will follow at 5:00 PM with Pastor Joe Stafford officiating.
