Lawrence “Larry” Roger Pierce, 66, of Galion, passed peacefully with his loving family by his side on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at his home.
Larry was born in Columbus, on September 20, 1959, to the late Donald and Regina (Bolton) Pierce. On March 2, 2009, Larry would marry Christine “Chris” (Moodespaugh) and she survives in Galion.
After graduating from high school, Larry answered his nation’s call to serve, proudly joining the United States Army as a member of the 101st Airborne. Following his military service, he dedicated his working years as an HVAC technician, spending the last several years with Atlas Butler.
Larry was a hard worker with a gift for making others smile, no matter how their day had been going.
In his free time, Larry enjoyed woodworking and found great satisfaction in creating things with his hands.
Above all else, Larry treasured time spent with his family. His children thought the world of him and always knew him as the best dad. He especially loved playing with his grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and joy.
In addition to his wife Chris, Larry’s memories will be cherished by his children: Joshua (Angel) Welsh of Caledonia, Bill (Melissa) Pierce of Fostoria, Dustin (June) Welsh of Marion, Kerri (Carl Briggs) Vaughn of Crestline, and Aaron (Catharine) Lear of New Washington; siblings: Sharon O’Neil of Sunbury, Steven Pierce of Sunbury, and Michael Pierce of Sunbury, Bev Stewart of Sunbury and Lora Stewart of Virginia; 13 grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his sisters: Linda Jackson, and Johann Hoffman.
Friends may call on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, from 10:00am to 12:00pm, at Gompf Funeral Service – Galion Chapel, 303 Portland Way North, Galion. The funeral service will be immediately following at 12:00pm. Following the service, burial with Full Military Honors will take place at Caledonia Cemetery.
