MANSFIELD: Cindy (Edgerton) Powell passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2026 in her home surrounded by her family after a courageous fight with cancer. She fought with faith and grace with the help of family and friends. Cindy was born on December 20, 1952, and with the exception of a few early years, lived her life in Mansfield, Ohio.

She was a graduate of Madison High School Class of 1970. Prior to becoming a mother and homemaker, Cindy worked at Ideal Electric and made many friends. For over sixty years Cindy was a member of Diamond Hills Baptist Church teaching Sunday School, vacation Bible school, and serving on staff. She enjoyed volunteering for 4-H camp and working for the Richland County Board of Elections each election day.

Cindy was married to Dennis W. Powell for 37 years and they enjoyed their life together with their girls at Chestnut Hill Farm until his death in 2013. She was also preceded in death by her parents, David and Sarah (Hagy) Edgerton, in-laws D. Wayne and Margaret Powell and brother-in-law Bob Elcess.

She is survived by her daughters Kimberly (Heath) Hershner and Leslie (Matt) Garnsey, granddaughters Sadie and Haylee Hershner, sister Michelle Egan, brother Scott (Chrissy) Hagy, sister-in-law Sheila Elcess and brothers-in-law Greg Powell and David (Sheree) Powell.

Friends may call Sunday, March 15, 2026 from 1- 4 pm in the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. The Funeral Service honoring the life of Cindy Powell will be held Monday at 12 pm in Diamond Hills Baptist Church where visitation will continue the hour prior to the service. Pastor Dan Brown will officiate. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Park near Lexington.
