The last time it started blowing like this, Dorothy found herself in Oz.

The National Weather Service noticed too. Those strong overnight winds have triggered a tornado watch for all of north central Ohio, including Ashland, Richland, Knox, Crawford and Morrow counties.

In total, 24 Ohio counties are included in the watch: Ashtabula, Cuyahoga, Geauga, Holmes, Lake, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, Trumbull, Wayne, Erie, Huron, Lorain, Marion, Hancock, Seneca and Wyandot counties.

In our region, the watch includes the communities of Ashland, Bucyrus, Cardington, Galion, Mansfield, Mount Gilead, and Mount Vernon across north central Ohio.

The watch is in effect until 5 p.m.

So batten down the hatches, keep a tight hold on Toto, and a trained eye on the horizon.

The forecast calls for cooling temperatures tonight, which could reach as low as 30 degrees. That cooling trend will continue on Thursday night, with a low of 29.

But the NWS sees a return of the sun on Friday, with a high reaching 61.
