Everett “Ed” Beechler, Jr., age 93 of Mansfield, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at Arbors at Mifflin with his loving family by his side. He was born on August 16, 1932, in Mansfield to the late Everett and Helen (Weber) Beechler, and on November 17, 1952, he married Anita (Maynard).

Ed proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He worked as a plumber, and he was employed by Harold Cook for 14 years before starting his own company in 1973. He belonged to the VFW and Amvets, and he was a volunteer fireman for Mifflin Township.

He is survived by his wife of 73 years Anita Beechler; his children Saundra (Steve) Kanz and Malia (Frank) Scarnato; his grandchildren Scott (Amy Wylie) Kanz, Ryan Kanz, Nicole (Dustin Postell) Traxler, Kim (Ben) Bonya, Jeff Scarnato, and Taylor Scarnato; and his great-grandchildren Mason Kanz, Kelli (JD) Cox, Atlas Traxler, Brody Kanz, Liam Kanz, Sofia Thompson, Mike Phillips, Ryan Bonya, and Jacob Scarnato.

He was preceded in death by his parents Everett and Helen Beechler; his stepmother Ruth Beechler; and his sisters Mary (Maynard) Sams, Lois (Arnold) Ehrsam, Betty (Rollie) Mitchell, and Doris Beechler.

Calling hours will be held on March 17, 2026, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Services will take place at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Windsor Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Lincoln Heights Baptist Church, 512 Stewart Rd. N., Mansfield, OH 44905, or to Southern Care Hospice, 2291 W. 4th St., Suite G, Ontario, OH 44906.
