Alcinda Gail “Cindy” Burns, 79, of Mount Gilead died Monday, March 9, 2026 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
Born September 3, 1946 in Marion, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Ethell (Rech) Wilt. She was previously married to Clarence C. Shultz, Jr. on April 30, 1966 and he preceded her on May 11, 2025. She then married James Charles Burns on July 17, 1993.
She graduated from Cardington High School in 1964.
Cindy will be remembered for her fun loving sense of humor and her love of family. She enjoyed being with her family, playing card games with family and on the computer, reading books, and spending time with her cat Buddy. She was a member of Polk Township AMVETS Post 1979 and Army Navy Garrison 987 and a life member of American Legion Scarborough Post 243 and VFW Post 4329.
She is survived by her children: Kimberly (Brian) Cordle of Mount Gilead, Jonathan Shultz of Galion Amanda Shultz of Galion, Patrick J. (Amanda Saunders) Burns Sr. of Iberia, Michael Burns of Grove City, Leslie A. (Bill Offerle) Burns of Galion, and Kathleen (Jeremy) King of Grove City, grandchildren: Zachery, Kain and Brian Cordle, Courtney Piatt, Houston and Dillon Morgan, Jasmin and Jonathan Shultz, Nicole Burns, Summer Burns, Patrick A. Burns, Jr., Ethan M. Burns, Abbegail E. Burns, Charles Shepherd II, Ian and Johnathan Willhelm, Jeri-ka and Brianna Cassidy, Tiffany and Alex Doss, Shawn and Ashley Offerle, Angel King, Houston and Dillan Morgan, three sisters: Sarah-Jane Adams, Mary Ann Clements and Linda Ullom, and one brother Larry Wilt.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons: Robert Shultz and James C. Burns, Jr., daughter Angela Shepherd and three grandchildren: Camdin Garrett, Katelynn King and Edward Bunce-Sheperd.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM Sunday March 15, 2026 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St., Galion, Ohio.
