Ellis M. Zimmerman, age 49 years, 2 months, and 9 days, died Monday morning, March 9, 2026 at his home in Shiloh. His death follows a 14-month battle with Lymphoma.
Ellis was born December 31, 1976 in Mifflinburg, PA to Abram and Emma (Martin) Zimmerman. He was a member of the Clear Creek Mennonite Church in Savannah, OH.
Survivors include his wife Mary Jane (Reiff) Zimmerman whom he wed on April 27, 2000: 8 children: Chris (Kayla) Zimmerman, Karen (Quentin) Horst, Michelle Zimmerman (Spencer Nolt), Eric Zimmerman, Jeffrey Zimmerman, Lynette Zimmerman, Malachi Zimmerman, and Alexander Zimmerman; parents: Abram and Emma Zimmerman; siblings: Edward (Verna) Zimmerman, Abram (Wilma) Zimmerman, Jacob (Irene) Zimmerman, Marietta (Aaron) Martin, Harvey (Mary Ella) Zimmerman, Erwin (Eva) Zimmerman, Wayne (Susan) Zimmerman, Weaver (Lavina) Zimmerman, Elvin (Sarah Ann) Zimmerman; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Paul and Anna Reiff; in-laws: Leon Reiff, Ruth Ann (Elmer) Sensenig, Dorcas (Paul) Burkholder; Janet (Jason) Newswanger; and Linda (Jay) Zimmerman; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, David Zimmerman and a number of infant nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are welcome on Thursday, March 12, 2026 from 12 – 3 pm and 5 – 8 pm at the Buckeye Community Center, 79 Noble Road, Shiloh, OH 44878. Funeral services will be on Friday, March 13, 2026 at 10 am at Clear Creek Mennonite Church, 665 Township Road 1101, Ashland, OH 44805. Bishop Paul Zimmerman will officiate with burial following in the church cemetery.
