MANSFIELD — The Music Academy of Karate and Empowerment highlighted the progress and dedication of its youngest students, as well as advancing members of the dojo community on March 4 and March 6.

During a special promotion for the 4–5-year-old class, several young students demonstrated their growing confidence and focus by successfully leading basic techniques and following the pattern of their first kihon, or fundamental form.

It was the first time the students stood in front of their peers to lead movements, showing not only their understanding of basic karate skills but also their developing leadership abilities. Watching these young students step forward with enthusiasm and concentration was a proud moment for instructors and families alike.

The dojo also held its monthly promotion, recognizing students who have met the technical and character standards required to advance in rank.

The following students were promoted to yellow belt: Bradley Kelby, Christopher Cross, and Mallorie Clark. Each student demonstrated great improvement in technique, commitment to practice, and the discipline required to move forward in their martial arts journey.

Jeremiah Messner was named Student of the Month for his outstanding example of the dojo’s core virtues: perseverance, integrity, indomitable spirit, courtesy, and self-control. Jeremiah consistently demonstrates these values and has improved his skills through the basics

M.A.K.E continues to focus not only on teaching martial arts techniques but also on building character, confidence, and leadership in students of all ages throughout the Richland County community.
