MANSFIELD — Mayor Jodie Perry is pleased to announce the hiring of Counsilman-Hunsaker & Associates, Inc., a nationally recognized aquatics consulting firm, to lead the development of a comprehensive Public Pool Feasibility Study.
This detailed planning process includes assessing the need for a pool, engaging stakeholders and community members for feedback, developing potential design options, identifying space needs, and projecting anticipated building and operational costs for a future public pool facility in Mansfield.
“Mansfield has a long and proud history of providing public access to pools,” Perry said. “Previous facilities grew too costly to maintain and operate after decades of use and did not meet modern building codes.
“We have a unique opportunity to build the future of water recreation for current and future Mansfielders.”
As part of this process, the city will host a public open house on Monday, March 30, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the North Lake Pavilion. Residents are encouraged to attend, learn about the study, ask questions, and share their feedback on the future of Mansfield’s swimming pools.
Earlier that day, the study team will meet with the project steering committee and several stakeholder groups, including youth representatives, neighborhood leaders, and educators, to gather additional input and perspectives.
“We welcome all members of the community to participate in this important conversation,” said Louis Andres, Public Works Director. “Your feedback will help shape the future of aquatics in Mansfield.”
Residents who are unable to attend the open house may contact the Mansfield City Parks Office to share their comments or ask questions about the Plan.
The City of Mansfield owns 21 neighborhood parks, which provide a host of amenities. In the past few years, they have invested significant money and worked with additional partners to upgrade the parks per residents’ requests.
