SHELBY – The Women’s Fund of The Shelby Foundation has awarded $10,725 in grants through its 2026 grant cycle, supporting four local organizations serving women, children, and families across Richland County.
The Women’s Fund is supported by members of the 100+ Women for Shelby, along with additional individual donors who believe in the power of collective giving. Together, their contributions are invested directly into programs that strengthen the community.
Here are the 2026 grant award recipients:
Cedarbrae Inc. – $3,225
Funding will support the installation of an agriculture well as part of Cedarbrae’s business expansion project. Cedarbrae provides rural respite experiences where equine partnerships serve as catalysts for deep, lasting personal growth.
Shelby Girls Softball League – $4,000
Funding will support major improvements to field for the 2026 softball season, including drainage work and site improvements to create a safer playing environment for local girls.
Down Syndrome Association of Northeast Ohio – $2,500
Funding will support the Richland County Community Group, providing families with resources, education, and connection as they raise children with developmental disabilities.
Skate Ohio – $1,000
Funding will support safety resources and upkeep at the Louis Beach Skatepark (located near West Park Drive), including additional obstacles and helmets. The park serves youth and adults of all ages and provides an accessible recreational outlet.
“I have seen firsthand that in a small town, we are the difference,” said Carli Bailey, Shelby Foundation board member and Women’s Fund steering committee member.
“Collective giving isn’t just the dollar amount. It’s neighbors investing in neighbors. When we come together, small gifts turn into life changing impact, and our entire community grows stronger because of it.”
