MOUNT GILEAD — —The Morrow County Community Foundation, established in 2025, introduced itself to the Morrow County community today with the launch of a website and charitable donations made to five local organizations.

In the next calendar quarter, the Foundation plans to launch a grant application process for organizations to apply for program or project funding.

“Our mission is to enhance the well-being of Morrow County residents through purposeful grant-making, foster philanthropy in our county,” said Executive Director Cheryl Sinden.

“We want to connect individuals and organizations who are involved, or would like to be involved, in giving that helps create lasting benefits for our community.

“We’re excited about the opportunity to make a positive impact within our county now and for many years to come.”

Details about initial donations

$5,000 – Mid-Ohio Food Collective (designated for Morrow County organizations working in partnership with MOFC to increase food security).

$5,000 – Morrow County Services for Older Citizens (designated to support the home meal delivery program).

$5,000 – Friends of the Morrow County Park District (designated for facility repair work at Flying Squirrel Preserve Lodge).

$5,000 – OSU Extension — Morrow County (designated to provide education on nutrition and cooking skills to Morrow County youth).

$5,000 – Delaware-Morrow Mental Health & Recovery Services Board (designated for services provided to Morrow County residents).
