To the Editor:
One of the concerns a lot of people have because of the events of the Trump experience, is the so called “deep state” where politicians and staffers become entrenched in office and then act together as a behind the scenes government.
Ohio politicians, to their credit, set term limits for the major offices not too long ago.
However, what has transpired is a sort of musical chairs. When term limits come into play those in office simply run for each other’s office.
While this is certainly legal, it is not really in keeping with the spirit of term limits. So if we, as voters, think term limits are a good idea, we need to make it happen by voting in new blood. The current contest for Secretary of State gives us a chance to do this.
I would like to bring to your attention such new blood. Marcell Strbich is an energetic young man who has spent considerable time on election vulnerabilities and solutions.
He is a co-author of H.B. 427/H.B. 274 ‘Ohio Votes Count Act’ and a frequent guest on the Windsor Report and Bob Frantz radio shows. His analysis on election vulnerabilities and solutions is cited in national publications such as the Federalist, Undercover D.C.
For sure, Ohio elections have been carried out more cleanly than a number of other states in the country, but there is always room for improvement and elections deserve constant vigilance.
This is an important job for the Secretary of State and Marcell, as you can see, certainly has the background to do that job.
Lt. Col., USAF (ret), Marcell Strbich was a 20-year Air Force Intelligence officer who served in a variety of tactical and strategic leadership assignments supporting worldwide counter terrorism operations and assessing emerging and disruptive technologies.
Following military service, Marcell chose to apply his skills and knowledge by becoming a full-time Ohio statewide election legislative reform proponent and spokesperson.
Marcell and his wife, Nicole, are the proud parents of three: Daniel (8), Michael (6), and Annabelle (2). Marcell travels across the state talking and listening. Make an effort to hear him when he is in your area.
If you want to see changes made, primaries are as important as final elections. Sometimes, more so. So please be sure to vote in the May 5 primary.
Thanks for your time.
