Michael Wayne Otey Sr., age 76, of Mansfield passed away Monday morning, February 16, 2026, at Crystal Care Nursing and Rehab Center of Mansfield.
Born on March 13, 1949, in Mt. Olive, West Virginia, he was the only child of the late Archie and Joan (Campbell) Otey. Michael was employed as an over the road truck driver until his retirement. During those many miles on the road, he was able to compile a list of places to visit where he could indulge in his passion for hunting and fishing. Michael had a generous spirit and giving heart and would do anything to help someone else. His kindness and love for others will forever be treasured.
Michael leaves behind two children, Michael (Sherry) Otey Jr. and Tammy (Danny Vasquez) Hinton; and three grandchildren, Tyler Scott, Michael Vasquez and Justine Vasquez.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella Davis Otey in 2014; parents; and grandson, Shawn Styer.
Michael will be laid to rest in Oak Grove Memorial Park, Lexington, at a future date.
