Donald Ray Skaggs, age 69, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away on February 8, 2026 at OhioHealth Hospital, Mansfield following an extended illness. He was born on October 10, 1956 in Olive Hill, Kentucky, the son of the late Charles and Jewel Skaggs.
On January 9, 1993 he married Paula Ann Kennedy in Mansfield Ohio and together they shared 32 years. Don moved from Ohio to Kentucky around 2000 then recently moved back to Ohio. His family was his proudest achievement and Don was known as being very kind hearted.
Don worked at AK Steel for 36 years, formerly Empire Detroit Steel, finished working at US Kolby Steel for 10 years. In high school he had worked at Wick’s Lumber and as a young adult had worked at Geyer‘s Supervalu store.
He is survived by his children, Kelsey Skaggs, Kyle Skaggs, Crystal Skaggs, Amber Skaggs, Ashley Skaggs, and Shannon Skaggs and stepchildren, Travis Townsend and Amber Dials.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Paula Skaggs; parents, Charles and Jewel (Blankenbeckler) Skaggs; three brothers, Charles Skaggs, Kendall Skaggs, and Randall D Skaggs; sister-in-law, Vickie Skaggs, and nephew Randall Skaggs.
