BELLVILLE — Ava Boccio’s first season in The Valley was a memorable one.
Clear Fork’s junior sharpshooter was selected the Division V Player of the Year when the All-District 6 coach’s association teams were unveiled Tuesday.
The daughter of former Clear Fork great Jill (Snavely) Boccio, Ava attended Olentangy Orange her freshman and sophomore seasons before enrolling at her mother’s alma mater. She averaged 17.1 points per game, helping the Colts win an outright Mid-Ohio Athletic Conference title.
Teammate Brinley Barnett joined Boccio on the first team. The senior point guard averaged 9.7 points a game.
Clear Fork’s Eliana Pelkey was a second-team selection. The senior averaged 9 points a game.
Division II/Division III
Ontario’s Rylee Milner earned a spot on the Division II/Division III first team. The senior averaged 14 points a game.
Madison’s Maddy Berrie and Morgan Cook were second-team choices. Berrie averaged 12 points a game, while Cook averaged 12.3 points a game.
Ashland’s Kennedy Lacey was selected the Division II/Division III Player of the Year. Ashland’s Renee Holt was the Coach of the Year.
Division IV
Shelby’s Chloe Mahek earned a place on the Division IV first team. The junior averaged 16.5 points a game.
Shelby’s Braylee Sturts and Lexington’s Tatum Stover were second-team selections. Sturts averaged 9.6 points a game, while Stover was good for 10.2 points a night.
Division VI
Crestview’s Tori Kidney was north central Ohio’s lone representative on the Division VI first team. The senior averaged 12.7 points a game.
Mansfield Christian’s Zy’Eir Davis and Brooklyn Rider were second-team picks. Davis averaged 12.6 points a game and Rider averaged 13.2 points a game, leading the Flames to the Mid-Buckeye Conference championship.
Crestview’s Shelby Bays was an honorable-mention choice. The sophomore averaged 7.5 points a game.
Division VII
Lucas’ Riley Trumpower and Crestline’s Jocelyn Noblit were selected to the Division VII first team.
Just a sophomore, Trumpower averaged 12.3 points a game. Noblit, a junior, scored 14.4 points a game.
Plymouth junior Kendyll Tolbert and Lucas senior Katie Griffey were second-team picks. Tolbert averaged 10 points a game and Griffey averaged 9.6 points a game.
