MANSFIELD — Adena, a leading construction and development firm, announced Tuesday a strategic organizational alignment that brings several subsidiaries together under a newly structured business unit framework.
The move is designed to clarify Adena’s full range of capabilities, strengthen collaboration across disciplines, and position the company for sustained growth across key markets.
As part of the alignment, Adena has organized its operations into a unified Adena Family of Companies, anchored by Adena Corporation as the parent organization providing enterprise leadership, strategy, and shared services.
Operating under that structure are three core business units:
Adena Construction, encompassing the company’s construction management/general contractor (CM/GC) operations, general trades and carpentry, and themed and amusement construction portfolio.
Adena Structural, bringing together concrete, masonry, steel fabrication, and steel erection into a single specialized division with focused leadership.
Adena Development, focused on development services and long-term client and partner opportunities.
The company is also unveiling two websites (www.Adena-Construction.com and www.Adena-Structural.com) that feature the refreshed brand.
The new sites introduce a clearer, more cohesive market presence that better reflects the full scope of Adena’s capabilities, supporting stronger business development conversations while also helping attract and retain top talent.
By aligning its visual identity and messaging with how the company operates today, Adena is better positioned to connect with clients, partners, and future team members.
Select specialty brands, including Palmer’s Contracting Group (PCG), AIM, and AMC, will retain their established names and market positions while benefiting from closer strategic alignment with Adena.
“This alignment is about telling our story more clearly and delivering even more value to our clients,” said Randy Payne, CEO of Adena. “We’ve grown significantly over the years, and this structure allows us to bring our full capabilities to the table in a more coordinated, intentional way, without losing what makes us who we are.
“Our people, our values, and our commitment to self-perform excellence remain unchanged.”
Payne joined Adena in 1988 as an estimator, advanced to President in 2001, and led the company’s transition to family ownership in 2007. During that time, the company has evolved from a well-regarded general contractor and construction manager in Mansfield, Ohio to a dynamic regional powerhouse with national reach known for delivering complex, high-profile projects.
In conjunction with the organizational changes, Adena also announced several leadership promotions to support the new structure and its long-term strategic plan:
Adena Corporation
Dwight Farmer has been promoted to Executive Vice President of Project Development.
Adena Construction — Ohio.
Ryan Payne has been promoted to Executive Vice President and will continue to serve as President of PCG, which was acquired in 2025.
Andrew Bensman has been named Director of Project Management.
Gabe Trainer has been named Director of Field Operations.
Aaron Bond has been named Vice President, General Trades.
Adena Construction — Colorado
Josh Darling has been promoted to Executive Vice President.
Scott Elling has been named Director of Project Management.
“These leaders have earned the trust of our teams and our clients through performance, accountability, and integrity,” Payne added. “As we look ahead, this leadership group is critical to executing our growth strategy and maintaining the high standards our partners expect from Adena.”
The organizational alignment reflects Adena’s continued investment in clarity, collaboration, and scale, while reinforcing long-standing commitment to its values, employees, and clients.
