To the Editor,

On Friday, Feb. 20 at 6 p.m. the Mansfield Civic Society will host its first public meeting at Pump & Grind, and we would like to invite the community to join us.

The Mansfield Civic Society is a new local initiative inspired by the work of Strong Towns, a national movement that encourages cities to focus on practical, community driven solutions for long term prosperity.

Our goal is simple. We want to bring neighbors together to have thoughtful, productive conversations about Mansfield’s future and to take small, meaningful steps that make our city stronger.

We believe that involvement in local issues is the highest form of politics. It is where everyday people can make a real difference. Decisions about infrastructure, development, neighborhoods, and public spaces affect our daily lives. Those conversations should include the people who live here.

We warmly invite elected officials, candidates, government employees, local business owners, nonprofit leaders, and everyday residents to attend. This is not a partisan gathering. It is a community conversation. Mansfield’s future depends on collaboration between those who serve in public roles and the citizens they represent.

This first meeting will introduce our mission, share ideas for upcoming projects, and create space for residents to voice concerns and hopes for Mansfield. Whether you care about walkability, small business growth, housing, parks, or simply want to meet others who love this city, you are welcome.

No RSVP is required. The event is free, but if you can we recommend supporting our host. Children ARE welcome, just make sure you bring something to entertain them.

This is a short meeting and you can get them food. We hope to see you on Feb. 20 at 6 p.m. at Pump and Grind at 586 Park Avenue East, OH-430, Mansfield, OH 44905.

If you can’t make it to the meeting and want to be part of the conversation, join us online.
