We mourn the loss of J.W. Churn, a devoted husband, loving father, brother, uncle, grandfather, and cherished friend, who fell asleep in death at the age of 91 on February 8, 2026.
For 62 years, J.W. faithfully served as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He found great joy in his ministry, sharing with others the hope of God’s Kingdom and the blessings it promises for the future. Known for his kind spirit and warm smile, J.W. enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and singing with those he loved.
J.W. leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved daughters, Dianna Nettles and Vicki (Michael) Colvin; his sister, Francis Cooper; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; along with many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Edmonia Short-Churn; his brothers, Ambrose Churn, Albert Churn Jr., Walter Churn and James Churn; his sisters, Betty Harding and Mary Churn; his beloved wife, Minnie Churn; Eula Churn; and his daughter, Patricia Fuhrmann.
A memorial service celebrating J.W.’s life and faith will be officiated by Rodrick Banks on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, located at 1780 Middle Bellville Road, Mansfield, Ohio 44907.
Calling hours will be held from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the memorial service immediately following. Memorial contributions may be made in J.W.’s memory to the Worldwide Work of Jehovah’s Witnesses at donate.jw.org.
