Gabriel Marcellus Bosco Zader, 35, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026 following a challenging nine month battle with cancer.

Gabriel was born in Steubenville, Ohio on April 22, 1990 and graduated from Marion Catholic High School in 2008. In addition to obtaining an associate degree from North Central State College in business administration, he also obtained multiple certificates in electrical, plumbing, HVAC and other technical skills.

Gabe was an eternal optimist and also entrepreneurial minded from early-on. He started a small local vending machine operation in Marion at age 16. He had an interest in investment and real estate, and at one point owned multiple residential and commercial buildings in the Mansfield area. He was also a motorcycle and car enthusiast and had an encyclopedic knowledge of both. Gabe was employed by several companies throughout his life, the most recent with AEP shortly before his illness.

In addition to being an active member of St. Peter Catholic Church, he was a member of 3rd degree Knights of Columbus, and with various men’s groups. He also volunteered for such organizations as the Richland County Pregnancy Center, Richland County Young Republicans, the Mansfield City Charter Review Committee and the Mansfield Aviation Club. His smile, generosity, with a selflessness and gentle spirit, touched more lives than we will ever know.

Gabe is survived by his parents Mark and Ruth (Wirbickas-Potter) Zader; his siblings Joy Marie (Drew) Pogue, Zachary Mark Zader, Grace Ann Zader; grandparents Kathleen Potter, David Potter, Bette Wirbickas; and many cousins, aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4-7pm at Herlihy Funeral Home, 173 Park Avenue West. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00am Wednesday at St. Peter Catholic Church, 60 S. Mulberry Street, followed by a graveside service at Mansfield Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Richland County Pregnancy Services or Knights of Columbus #687.
