MANSFIELD — No injuries were reported Friday night when Mansfield firefighters battled a house fire on Summit Court on an icy February night.
According to the MFD, units were dispatched at 8:51 p.m. and initial units arrived four minutes later.
“Crews encountered a second-floor fire, which was brought under control by responding units. Our mutual aid partners from the 179th (Cyberspace Wing) Fire Department assisted with overhaul operations,” according to the MFD.
“Due to weather conditions, the temperature with the wind chill was approximately -3°F, which meant all Mansfield Fire Department personnel were requested to respond,” the department said.
Fire investigators were called to the scene to determine the cause of the fire. The American Red Cross was also notified and was assisting displaced residents, firefighters said.
