Sam Romagnoli, age 73, of Mansfield sadly passed away Wednesday morning, January 28, 2026, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital from complications after surgery.
Born Samuel Louis Romagnoli in Follansbee, West Virginia, he was one of two children of the late Joseph A. and Jeanette T. (Casini) Romagnoli. Sam was a musical prodigy from a young age and earned a Bachelor degree in Music from West Liberty University in West Virginia. He was an accomplished musician who was known for being a monster B3 organ player and was widely regarded as the best in town.
He and his beautiful wife, Rebecca, toured together for several years, filling many venues. He played with many bands in the area and later became known for his amazing talent at karaoke. His boisterous, outgoing, fun-loving personality drew in large crowds wherever he played or sang. Sam adored his dogs, Layla and Jax, and they were constant, attentive companions.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Rebecca (Turrie) Romagnoli; daughter, Felicia (Jody) Beal; two grandchildren who inherited their musical talents from Papa, Deacon and Colt Beal; a sister, Cindy Payne of Louisville, KY; a niece, Jackie (Geoff) Sprinkle; a great-niece, Emelia Sprinkle; a great-nephew, Grant Sprinkle; and several relatives, dear friends across the United States as well as his community family.
In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Earl Payne; and a large extended family of aunts and uncles.
The family invites everyone to celebrate the life of Sam from 6:00-11:00 pm at Mansfield Liederkranz, 1212 Silver Lane, Mansfield where there will be lively music, karaoke and conversation honoring the life of a well-loved man.
The community will forever grieve with the family the loss of this talented musician and performer, the one and only, Sam Romagnoli.
