Gregory Paul Schlarman, age 74, resident of Shelby, passed away Friday morning January 2, 2026 in his home.
Born December 27, 1951, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Paul and Mary “Eileen” (Smith) Schlarman, Greg was a lifelong Ohio resident and spent the majority of his life in Shelby. He was a 1969 graduate of Shelby High School and was employed for many years at General Motors in Mansfield before retiring. Greg was a member of the Shelby F.O.E. #763.
An avid Cincinnati sports fan, he especially enjoyed cheering on the Reds and the Bengals. In his free time, Greg also enjoyed golfing.
He is survived by his sister Kathy Mason of St. Louis, Missouri, and nephew Mike Mason of St. Louis, Missouri; great niece Alyssia; great nephew Aiden.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters Karen McKinney, Karol Schlarman and one brother Gary Schlarman.
Per Greg’s wishes services will not be observed. A burial will take place at a later date in Oakland Cemetery in Shelby.
