MANSFIELD — Richland County Transit (RCT) is making it easier for riders to get on board with the launch of EZFare, a digital fare payment option designed for convenience, flexibility, and accessibility.

EZFare allows riders to purchase single-trip tickets, day passes, and monthly passes using a credit or debit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. EZFare is free to use, with no added credit card fees.

RCT will continue to accept cash fares for riders who prefer traditional payment methods.

Riders without a bank card can still use EZFare by loading cash at dozens of local retail locations through the Vanilla Network. Participating locations can be found at https://pay.vanilladirect.com/pages/locations?mapOnlyRetailer=.

Bus fare for adults is the same $2 per trip, with daily and monthly passes available as well.  Students up to age 18, seniors 65+, and disabled riders should call RCT at 419-522-4504 to have a half-price discount added to their account.

Once the app is set up, using EZFare is simple. Riders show their active ticket or pass on their smartphone to the bus driver, who validates it upon boarding. No cash or paper tickets are required.

Because EZFare is linked to RCT’s real-time bus location data, riders can also use the app to plan trips by selecting the Transit option within the app.

EZFare is available as a free mobile app through the Apple App Store and Google Play, and as a public website at https://ezfare.justride.tickets/buy/select-flow.

RCT joins 18 other transit agencies across Ohio and neighboring states using the EZFare system, which allows riders to purchase fares for multiple transit systems through a single platform.

RCT encourages riders to explore EZFare and choose the payment option that works best for them.  For more information, call 419-522-4504 or follow https://www.facebook.com/RichlandCountyTransitOH#
