Taryn L. Plant, 70, passed away peacefully at her home on January 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

She was born March 29, 1955, in Trenton, Michigan, to Donald Haase and Patricia (Griffith) Haase. On October 19, 1980, Taryn married the love of her life, Michael Plant, and together they shared 45 years of marriage filled with devotion, adventure, and family.

Taryn was a passionate collector with an eye for meaningful keepsakes. She especially loved Precious Moments figurines, Hallmark Christmas ornaments, and Disney memorabilia — Disney held a special place in her heart, and she delighted in everything it represented. She also had a deep fascination with the Civil War, spending countless hours reading and learning about the era. Her compassionate heart extended especially to animals. Her favorite television show, Pitbulls & Parolees, inspired her to adopt her beloved dog, Buddy. Taryn loved all animals, enjoyed trips to the zoo, participated in charitable animal adoptions, and especially cherished visiting during the Christmas season to see the Zoo Wild Lights. Her dogs were her constant companions and a source of great joy.

Above all else, Taryn treasured time with her family, particularly her grandchildren, whom she adored and doted on endlessly. After Mike’s retirement, the two embraced travel together, journeying around the country. Her favorite place was the Outer Banks, where she loved camping in their camper and spending every Halloween at the campground — a tradition she looked forward to each year.

She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years Michael Plant, daughters Samantha (Jason Crider) Plant and Kristin (Steven Conner) Plant, grandchildren Nathan Plant-Crider, Jude Plant-Crider, and Lillianna Plant-Conner, father Donald Haase, and sister Terese (Richard) D’Haene.

She was preceded in death by her mother Patricia Haase, brother Edward Haase.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Snyder Funeral Homes, Lexington Avenue Chapel, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m., with a funeral service beginning at 5:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to ALS United, the ALS Foundation, or the Richland County Humane Society.
