Helena A. Andrews, age 92 of Galion, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Magnolia Terrace Assisted Living. She was born on September 11, 1933, in Mount Gilead to the late Paul A. and Edna M. (Scheckler) Rupe, and on February 14, 1955, she married the love of her life, Fred Andrews.
Helena worked in the wardrobe department for Disneyland for many years, and more recently, she worked for Walmart. She was an avid gardener and birder who enjoyed spending time outside, and she also enjoyed traveling all over the country, often visiting her family on the West Coast.
She is survived by her daughter Kay Andrews; her daughter-in-law Norma Andrews; her grandchildren, Jamie (Josh) Atkinson, Joseph (Anaïs) Andrews, Valerie Moore, and Robert (Jade) Moore; her special friend Merl Kleinknecht; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Andrews; her son Frederick “Keith” Andrews; her siblings, Catherine Wilkens and Norman Rupe; and her parents, Paul and Edna Rupe.
A special thanks to the staff of Magnolia Terrace Assisted Living and Pathways Hospice for the wonderful love and care given to Helena.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Services will take place at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Memorial Park.
