Maurice A. King, Jr., age 70 of Mansfield, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025, at OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital. He was born on April 1, 1955, in Mansfield to the late Maurice A. King, Sr., and Josephine (Chavez) King, and in March of 1992, he married his wife, Rhonda (Hayes).
Maurice worked for the steel mill in Mansfield for many years, and he also spent some time working for a family auto salvage yard. Back in the day, he owned King’s Corner Arcade. He was a jack of all trades. He knew everything about cars, and he was a master pool player. He also enjoyed fishing, wildlife, and gambling. Above all else, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandkids. He will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Rhonda King; his children Maurice (Lisa) King, III, Dustin (Katie) King, Justin (Mandi) King, Jamie (Ehram, III) Brooks, and Mike (Kristy) Frost; his stepsons Anthony and Timothy McDermott; his siblings Ellie (Mark) Garrison, Mike (Donise) King, Debbie Robertson, and Becky Schemine; numerous grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Maurice King, Sr., and Josephine King; his son Drew King; his brothers-in-law Jeff Robertson, Matt Schemine, and Bobby Hayes; and his sister-in-law Theresa Kegley.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Services will follow at 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
