Eileen Christus, 77, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Louisa, Kentucky on January 25, 1948, to Marshall and Jewel (Rice) Moore.
Eileen’s faith in Christ guided her life. She led her family to follow Christ, which is a wonderful legacy. She was a member of McElroy Rd. Church of Christ, where she was actively involved in the ladies fellowship. She graduated from Mansfield Senior in 1965 and earned her Medical Assistant Degree at Stark Community College. Eileen retired from Advanced Dermatology as the office manager. She enjoyed volunteering her time at Richland Pregnancy Services.
Eileen had a special bond with her sisters and aunt, and she loved nothing more than shopping and spending quality time with them. She was especially devoted to her grandchildren, always eager to create lasting memories with them.
Known for her elegance and grace, Eileen possessed a joyful spirit that made everyone feel welcome. Her fun-loving nature, combined with her faithful and classy demeanor, left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
In addition to her family, Eileen loved to travel, especially going to the beach, but it was the time spent with those she loved that brought her the most joy. She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and the unwavering love she shared with her family and friends.
Eileen is survived by her son, Matthew (Melissa) Christus; her daughter, Amy (Greg) Kahl; four grandchildren, Nicholas Kaleb (Annalissa) Christus, Bentleigh Christus, Marshall Christus, and Coleson Christus who affectionately referred to her as Yia Yia; great-grandchild Iverson Christus; 2 sisters, Marsha (Gary) Abrams and Sandy (John) Wiseman; many nieces and nephews; and cousins who referred to her as Aunt E; an aunt who was like a sister, Brenda Francis; and her travel companion, her dog Kiki.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Nicholas Christus, who passed away on October 24, 2003; and nephew, Jason Abrams.
Family and friends are invited to visitation on Sunday January 4, 2026, from 2:00PM – 5:00PM at Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield, OH 44902. The funeral will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026, at 10:00AM at the funeral home. Burial will be at Caesarea Cemetery.
