Thomas Daniel Cleland, age 83, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away on December 22, 2025 peacefully at home.
He was born in Mansfield, Ohio on November 24, 1942 to the late Daniel P. Cleland and Jane Martin Cleland.
In April of 1960, he married the love of his life, Diane at the Episcopal Church in Mansfield.
Thomas worked at General Motors and retired there after 27 years. He loved raising his field trial beagles and was the third generation to enjoy raising and racing standardbred horses.
Thomas’ proudest achievement was his loving family. He is survived by his wife, Diane; his children, Michelle Cleland, Tom Cleland, Steve (Lynn) Cleland, Samantha Wiley (Sean), John (Amy) Cleland, and Tim Cleland; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Mary Jane Cleland, and daughter-in-law, Kelly Cleland.
Burial will be held at a later date in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Shiloh.
