Robin Lorene Clevenger, 68, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.
Robin was born May 18, 1957, in Mansfield, Ohio, to Ronald and Berta (Nolen) Elkins. She spent her life devoted to her family, her work, and the small, meaningful joys that made everyday life special.
At the center of Robin’s life was the love of her life, her husband, Clyde Clevenger. Their life together was her greatest joy, and she carried that love with her always. Whether through quiet moments at home, shared routines, or the comfort of simply being together, Clyde was her anchor and her heart.
Robin held many roles throughout her life, including work at Mansfield Restaurant, JCPenney, Montgomery Ward, Woodlawn Nursing Home, and most notably as a librarian at the Main Branch of the Richland County Library — a role she proudly called the best job she ever had. A lifelong reader, Robin believed deeply in the power of books, learning, and curiosity.
She found joy in gardening, caring for flowers and plants with patience and pride, and in sewing, crafting, and decorating her home. Robin was also known for her remarkable knowledge and love of buttons — collecting them, studying them, and sharing that passion with friends and fellow enthusiasts. Her button collections were not just hobbies, but reflections of her attention to detail, history, and beauty in small things. She also loved thrifting and antique shopping, finding joy in the hunt and in the stories each piece carried with it.
Robin proudly served as President of the Mothers Club and was a dedicated supporter of her local Girl Scout troop, serving as a troop leader. Above all else, she cherished her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and treasured every moment spent with her family.
Robin is survived by her children, Crystal (Rich Haas) Adams, Amber (Clay Smith) Skaggs, Shannon (Crystal Evans) Skaggs, and Ashley (Christopher) Skaggs-Cerha; brothers, Ronny Elkins and Kenny Elkins; beloved sister, Kathy (Thad) Cetinich; grandchildren, Morgan Adams, Mason Adams, Ashtin (Kearstin Kisner) Swick, Addyson Cox, Erika Stalvey, Cole Smith, and Willa Skaggs; great-grandchildren, Zion Swick and Love Swick; and many cherished family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Clyde Clevenger; her parents; and her close friend, Gigi St. Clair.
In keeping with Robin’s wishes, no services will be held.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mansfield Richland County Public Library.
