Ashland posted a narrow 70-65 win over Mansfield in Ohio boys basketball on Dec. 19.

Mansfield started on steady ground by forging a 20-18 lead over Ashland at the end of the first quarter.

Through the early stages of the affair, the Tygers controlled the pace, taking a 33-28 lead into half.

Mansfield darted a slim margin over Ashland as both teams headed to make end of the third quarter adjustments.

The final quarter was decisive for the Arrows, as they climbed out of a hole with a 70-65 scoring margin.

Last season, Mansfield and Ashland squared off on Jan. 24, 2025 at Mansfield High School.

In recent action on Dec. 13, Ashland faced off against Painesville Riverside and Mansfield took on New Philadelphia on Dec. 12 at Mansfield High School.
