Loretta C. Sampsel, age 69, of Crestline, Ohio passed away December 11, 2025 at home. On September 24, 1956 she was born in Shelby, Ohio the daughter of the late Warren and Fayma Martin. On May 1, 1981 she married Dale L. Sampsel Sr. and together they shared 30 years.
Loretta retired from Lifetouch Church Directories of Galion, Ohio after 35 years. She also worked for the last 10 years at Oak Grove Manor nursing home in Mansfield. She enjoyed reading, mushroom hunting, watching her granddaughter Charlotte play soccer and basketball, watching her grandson Theo play baseball and soccer. She loved flowers, gardening and butterflies. Her proudest achievements were her children and grandchildren. Loretta had such a caring and loving soul and will be missed by all.
She has survived by her children, Charles Sampsel (Jami Butler), Dale L. Sampsel Jr. and Sara Rust; her grandchildren, Theo Rust and Charlotte Rust; her siblings, Bill (Margie) Martin of Shelby, Lavada (Art) Alfrey of Crestline and Leanna Rhodes of Mansfield; her sister-in-law, Rhonda Sampsel and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Dale Sampsel Sr.; her parents, Warren and Fayma Martin and her sisters, Karen Summers of Wisconsin and Brenda Stevens of Arizona/Washington.
A memorial service will be held Friday, December 19, 2025 at 3 PM at Ohio Cremation And Memorial Society, 9 Chambers Rd., Mansfield, OH, 44906. Katy Buzard will officiate and friends and family may call from 2 to 3 PM
